Redesigning the California Academy of Sciences Website

The California Academy of Sciences had an outdated home grown website requiring many manual updates for common changes.

"Death by a thousand cuts," the Web Team would describe it.

The time has come for a new look and a robust content management system (CMS) to publish changes to multiple locations.

As Project Executive, engaged a Design Studio and secured an in-kind for part of their fees and services. Established a cross-functional team with governance and oversight of the effort. Faced many challenges as there are opinions. Ultimately a beautiful new website emerged with a CMS that is still in use today.
