Comprising nearly 46 million scientific specimens, the Academy’s world-class research collections are an invaluable resource to the global scientific community and provide a vitally important record of life on Earth. However, the vast majority of the collections are not easily accessible to the public or for research.
As an experimental project, initiated a collaboration with a Google R&D team to 3D scan specimens. Using these models, engaged with the in-house web team to create interactive 3D models that are still available for viewing today. Click on the link and enjoy!
